I’m feeling thankful so I wanted to share it:
for lovely, patient friends who put up with long periods of neglect
for good books
for windfalls
for the chelsea bun I had at the library cafe this morning
for the way disappointments turn out to have been for the best in the long term, sometimes
for the huge bunch of Early Cheer flowers on my mantelpiece
for a nine-year old son who is sweet and clever and tender and silly
for a four year old son who is funny and quirky and delightful
for carrot and ginger juice at 3pm, instead of my usual black coffee - better for me and nearly as zingy
for weekends with no commitments, no plans - the best kind
for the red roman sandals (red!), ipod, guerilla gardening book and beautiful handmade doll that all came through my mail box in recent weeks - I know I am a stuck record, but nothing cheers me up like happy mail - especially unexpected happy mail
for my desire to take photographs & to record my life returning after a long winter of ‘blah’
for the new skin cream I have that smells like vanilla and violets
for cinnamon lollies and inky pens and floral frocks and stripy stockings
